Ayurveda is natural approach to common sense health care that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda translates into "knowledge of life" and is derived from the Sanskrit words Ayurveda (life) and veda (science). Given the notion that dis-ease is due to imbalances within the body and mind, the goal of Ayurveda is to regain homeostasis (balance) through lifestyle choices and natural remedies. In this class, you will learn about your personal mind/body constitution, defined at birth. Known as your dosha, this valuable information serves as a road map for greater wellness of being- body, mind & soul. We will focus on the six pillars of health: Sleep, Nutrition, Exercise, Meditation/Prayer, Healthy Emotions & Self Care/Grounding. Based on your unique dosha type, you will gain a better understanding of how the five elements: fire, water, air, space & matter - also play a role in your health & happiness. Food/Exercise/Mindfulness daily rituals, based on your dosha type will also be explored. This course is offered as an Add On- Introductory Course or as a stand alone course where we go into deeper understanding & discovery.
